Control, Direct, and Regulate Molten Metal Flow

Often the last contact point with the molten alloy, ceramic nozzles are essential components in molten metal processing, especially in casting and pouring operations.

Economical and widely used in general-purpose casting, they control, direct, and regulate the flow of molten metal from one vessel to another—such as from a ladle, tundish, or crucible into a mold—in a clean, precise, and controlled manner

It is important for nozzles to be of the highest-quality, and be both reliable and robust.

Nozzles designed to suit melt size and pour rates

Magma Ceramics supply a wide variety of nozzles depending on the melt size and pour rates required.

We can recommend design improvements to improve the flow stream of the metals which can directly impact on the quality of castings.

Made from high-quality refractory materials, our nozzles can be supplied separately for you to install or we can cast them into the tundish or launder as required.

Benefits of Magma Ceramics’ Nozzles

  • Thermal shock resistant to survive sudden immersion in molten metal
  • Able to withstand high temperatures (up to 1700°C or more)
  • Prevent clogging and buildup of metal
  • Maintain shape during extended use
  • Resist wear from high-velocity molten flow.
